Celebrate the One

by Paige on February 4, 2012

Out of all my close, close friends from high school, only 1 has made the leap into motherhood.

Last night, the rest of us all gathered together to celebrate that 1 – Melissa and her little girls’ birthday:

Mel is such an awesome mother to her now 2 and 4 year olds, and I’ve never seen happier kids than Lillian and Charlotte – despite Lil’s face in this pic Winking smile It was so, so good to celebrate her kids. We are their aunts after all!

It was also pretty awesome to hang out with these girls.

We were classy and drank boxed wine while the kids drank juice boxes. No big deal.

There was pizza, breadsticks, veggies, and cupcakes at the party, and while I partook, I didn’t snap any pics – mainly because when you have 30 kids running around your legs you don’t stop to take a picture of pizza Winking smile

We took off around 9 and made the drive back to Normal where Destiny, Shane, and I munched on popcorn and watched Always Sunny in Philadelphia until passing out on the couch. It was a classy night all around. But fun!!!

Today

This morning I have a couple clients to train, and am already through my XL cup of coffee:

I’m not quite hungry for breakfast (probably due to the 11:00 popcorn snack sesh last night) but I’ve got a travel-breakfast packed up in the fridge to eat on the way to or from – or heck, even during – training:

Green smooooothie! Of the strawberry-banana variety.

Workout, if anything, will probably just be some easy cardio in between clients. It’s tough to workout when you’ve got friends visiting! I’d much rather spend my time with my bestie!

Have a good Saturday!

How many of your friends from high school/college have kids?

Triple Circuit Workout B + Surprise Visitor

by Paige on February 3, 2012

Last night around the time I’d usually be winding down and hopping in bed, I headed out to the train station to pick up a special visitor!

D$ is staying with us this weekend Smile I’m always happy to see my girl, Destiny, so I had no qualms about pushing my bedtime a couple hours later.

However, I was still up at my usual time this morning, since I had a client to train. After training, I headed straight to the gym to get in a strength workout.image

On Monday, I shared my Triple Circuit Workout workout with you all. This morning I’m going to do a workout similar to it, but with completely different exercises. I called this one Triple Circuit Workout B because it complements the first one really well. So, you could do workout A on Monday, B on Wednesday, and A again on Friday.

And because there’s some funky-sounding exercises slipped in there (ok fine, I have an addiction to Final Cut Pro) I made a video of most of the exercises. Enjoy!

I hustled on home for breakfast after working since I have a hair appointment here in an hour or so. Destiny has to work anyway, so I don’t think she’ll mind keeping Niko and C-belle company Open-mouthed smile

Noats again today!

D just had cereal.

All right – off to the hair salon! Happy Friday, friends Open-mouthed smile

Your Own Groundhog Day

by Paige on February 2, 2012

Even though we just had eggs for dinner, I was really looking forward to having them again for lunch today.

IMG_6956

Eggs are one of those dishes that depending on how you cook them, they can take on a completely different meal!

Cheesy eggs vs. egg salad? Completely different.

But both equally delicious Winking smile I also topped the salad with some avocado before calling it good. I have some trail mix for later…we’ll see if I end up digging into it or not.

Your Own Groundhog Day

Happy groundhog day! Unfortunately, our local groundhog did see its shadow, so 6 more weeks of winter for us central Illinoisans. However, I’m not so convinced seeing as how we’re supposed to read the 50’s for the 3rd day in a row:

I love it I love it I love it!

Anyway, this morning on the radio, the DJ’s were talking about the movie Groundhog Day, and what they asked what you would do if you could live a day (or 2 or 3 or 4) with no consequences like Bill Murray’s character in the movie.

It got me thinking. On my own Groundhog Day, I would…

I have to be honest, I’d probably skip out on going to the office that day. I’d also probably book the next flight to some exotic location and spend the day there. With Jesse Pinkman. And Blaine Anderson.

Don’t worry, Shane could come two and bring his two celebrity crushes. I mean, we get a do over tomorrow, right? Smile with tongue out

OK. Enough daydreaming. Time to get back to work. Have a good afternoon!

What’s your favorite way to eat eggs?

What would you do on your own Groundhog Day?

Cure for Nose Bleeds

February 2, 2012

Pin itEvery single winter, around January, Shane gets pretty bad nose bleeds. Nose bleeds seem to be one of those PITA’s that you don’t really know what causes them, but when they happen, you gotta act fast. Same thing with migraines (which he also gets fairly frequently.) I’m lucky that I get neither. However, turns [...]

I Wish I Was…but I’m Not

February 1, 2012

Pin itAfternoon! Finally a little switch up from the past couple workday lunches: A series of snacks – cottage cheese, raspberries, crackers,  + almond butter and a mini salad w/ mixed greens + broccoli, drizzled in EVOO + balsamic. This lunch did the job, but was actually kinda boring. Some lunches you really look forward [...]

Wednesday Intention + Almond Cinnamon Sugar Crackers

February 1, 2012

Pin itI love going back and reading past posts from a year ago. Funny how last year, the weather channel was warning of of blizzards and the biggest snow storm in 10 years! – which led to a snow day the next day. And today it’s mild with highs in the upper forties. In fact, [...]
