Out of all my close, close friends from high school, only 1 has made the leap into motherhood.
Last night, the rest of us all gathered together to celebrate that 1 – Melissa and her little girls’ birthday:
Mel is such an awesome mother to her now 2 and 4 year olds, and I’ve never seen happier kids than Lillian and Charlotte – despite Lil’s face in this pic
It was so, so good to celebrate her kids. We are their aunts after all!
It was also pretty awesome to hang out with these girls.
We were classy and drank boxed wine while the kids drank juice boxes. No big deal.
There was pizza, breadsticks, veggies, and cupcakes at the party, and while I partook, I didn’t snap any pics – mainly because when you have 30 kids running around your legs you don’t stop to take a picture of pizza ![]()
We took off around 9 and made the drive back to Normal where Destiny, Shane, and I munched on popcorn and watched Always Sunny in Philadelphia until passing out on the couch. It was a classy night all around. But fun!!!
Today
This morning I have a couple clients to train, and am already through my XL cup of coffee:
I’m not quite hungry for breakfast (probably due to the 11:00 popcorn snack sesh last night) but I’ve got a travel-breakfast packed up in the fridge to eat on the way to or from – or heck, even during – training:
Green smooooothie! Of the strawberry-banana variety.
Workout, if anything, will probably just be some easy cardio in between clients. It’s tough to workout when you’ve got friends visiting! I’d much rather spend my time with my bestie!
Have a good Saturday!
How many of your friends from high school/college have kids?
